Most excellent concept! I could've SWORN that punk/graffiti image was done somewhere in Berlin. Turns out to be Croydon instead. Does Bansky travel/export his spray can art? Cuz I wanna see that blast in Berlin. Such a strong statement on both large furniture chains AND punk politics.

This isn't actually a confirmed Banksy, but yes, Banksy works internationally. I wouldn't be at all surprised if he's worked in Berlin.

How do they confirm if it's a Banksy? Don't they have carbon dating and forensic stuff and such???

I just noticed that in my previous comment I wrote 'BanSKY' instead of 'BanKSY.' Damn dyslexia. I once wrote 'KandiNKSY' instead of 'KandiNSKY' in an art class. They scoffed, ridiculed and flunked me.

BTW: did you catch the Banksy film at the Berlinale? 'Exit Through the Gift Shop' or something like that. It was sold out when I got there but I'm looking to watch it some day.

Since no one knows for sure who Banksy is, pieces can only be confirmed as his work if he outright "claims" them. Of course he has something of a signature style, but it's not always easy to tell if it's his work or a copycat. Same goes for old master painters to be honest.
I didn't get to see the film, or anything else at the Berlinale...the whole thing was just such a logistical nightmare and anyway I can watch most of the movies I was interested in online for free. Someday I'll see the Banksy documentary!
